Positive cross-cultural communication requires self-awareness, openness and righteous thoughts.
The following are five strategies for improving cross-cultural communication.
1. Feel it first. The next time you talk to someone who is different from your culture, be emotionally observing what is going on inside you. The spotlight in the heart shines on the emotions and knowledge of its existence. Tell yourself, "This is an anxiety that I feel anxious" or "I am very happy to learn."
2. Change your point of view. You can see people, places and things every day through your own cultural perspective. See what you can learn by experimenting with other people's cultural perspectives.
3. Suspend the judgment. Suspension of a judgment does not mean that the individual condemns the act of assessing others. Suspension of judgment means that people in the conversation "hang" their beliefs, values and assumptions in order to examine and discuss them for a better understanding.
4. Attention. Attention means "completely" and listens to the content and the way the message is conveyed. Mindfulness requires you to create time and space with another person in your conversation. Don't worry about not having enough time, not completing your point of view, or how you are being perceived. just.
5. Educate yourself. travel. Class or seminar. Leave your comfort zone. Enter your community. Talk to people who don't look like you. increase.
