Video game writing

Video game writing simply means being able to make a story for a video game. It is similar to fiction and scripting, but it has no formal format. The usual methods of writing video games are first performed as novels and/or scripts and then transferred to the storyboard for better clarification and approval.

Final concept
The writing of video games is like any other form of writing; writing text on paper. From there, the teams that make up the game are constantly reviewing the originally agreed storyboards to continue to grow in animation sequencing and storyline production.

As mentioned earlier, video game writing is very close to script and novel writing. However, storyboards are the reason for making game writing special and unique. Before the storyboard is produced, the entire script or novel is approved because it takes longer to make the storyboard. On the storyboard, animation is almost never a top-notch painting.

In fact, many storyboards [even at the professional level] are made with stick figures and are just for "breakthrough". There are two different storyboards; movies and games. The movie follows the same writing process as an animated film. The game storyboard is a chronological storyboard designed to bring the protagonist from the beginning of the game to the end of the game.

Rut, stump and stop
The ruts, stumps and sites are part of the storyboard, with the characters different from the main storyline. The rut is the place to stop the character due to the current situation and must leave the situation before being able to return to the main storyline. Stumps are a must-have puzzle to get the game back on track. These are often used to unlock parts, items, weapons or abilities that allow the character to further develop in the game. Stopping is usually used in RPGs, and the protagonist must complete a side goal or reach a point to advance in the main storyline. Most games use only two of these three methods, but all of these methods are designed to increase the length of the game, not for other purposes.

Proofreading at each stage
Like novels and scripts, proofing is very important, but not for the same reason. Proving the game story means two things; subtitles and dubbing. Almost every game has a subtitle option that allows the lines used in the storyboard to be placed directly in the movie or game scene. Voice actors rely on correct spelling and grammar in video game writing to provide the right sound, emotion and line settings.
