The new Sony e-book reader marks a stone in the book world.
The demise of printed books has been foreseen for decades, and every new technological advancement heralds the expected death of paperback books. TV, video, CD, internet... are all known as the myth of the novel.
However, traditional books we all know and love continue to attract every generation of newcomers.

For authors like me who have bought novels for children in e-books, this new development is very exciting. A few years ago, I published a mysterious mystery for e-books for children aged 8 to 12, with 3 CDs per CD. Criticism has always been that no one wants to read a novel on a computer. This does not apply now. Your new e-book reader can be comfortably held on the couch like a paperback, and if you have one, it's easier to get on your eyes. Children are born with new technologies that are difficult for us adults to master. Traditional books will thrive in this new era of technology. In fact, Amazon's success shows that the Internet may have changed the face of publishing, but certainly did not kill the book.
However, it is time to consider new alternatives.
