Five Diversity Screenplay Competitions

Based on my master's degree in Editing Arts from UCLA, the American Writers' Association, the Western Independent Screenplay Core Group, and more than 10 years of experience working in the Los Angeles entertainment industry, I compiled the five most important diversified scriptwriting competitions, shows and Scholarship list. In fact, my list contains six because they are very close in terms of prestige, industry contacts, and the careers of emerging diverse writers.

1. Disney - ABC Writing Scholarship

In 1990, he began working with the Western American Writers Association, which has become one of the most well-known and respected writing scholarships in the industry. More than 200 alumni rank first in Hollywood's elite, including screenwriters, directors and TV presenters. A limited number of full-time scholarships are used each year for film and television projects.

2. NBC Writers Diversity Initiative

NBC is proud of the diversity of its Primetime series of writers. To further encourage the diversity of our writers, NBC funds minority job writers and is open to all scripted NBC Primetime collections. Under the direction of the network and the studio, these positions are filled by writers selected and hired by the program players/producers of each program. Although the submitted material is continuously read, the position is usually filled during the staffing season from March to June.

3. Nickelodeon Writing Scholarship

The Nickelodeon Writing Scholarship aims to expand Nickelodeon's work to attract, develop and equip writers with diverse backgrounds and experiences in the Nickelodeon Network. The scholarship operates in a three-stage structure that provides up to one year of salary positions and provides practical experience and practical experience in writing scripts and storytelling ideas for animated TV.

4. Guy A. Hanks and Marvin Miller Screenplay Project [Coseby Writing Plan]

6. CBS Diversity Institute / Writer Mentoring Program

The program connects aspiring writers with the instructors of CBS Network and CBS Paramount Studio executives. In addition, the writer is also guided by the production mentor of the CBS series. In addition, there is a weekly meeting where successful writers, producers and performers examine many aspects of Hollywood TV screenwriter experience under very specific and practical conditions.
