Should students see politics as a career guide?

With what has happened in the political arena over the past few years, some students who serve in the student government and those who are predominantly political or historical may consider entering political science.

People who choose this direction may be motivated by many things. Which may be:

- Serving people in communities, cities, states or countries

- Do something good for the people you represent and make things better

- Assume a position of power

- Enhance their self

- the opportunity to take advantage of personal interests

To be successful, students must have the personal qualities that seem to permeate politics today. Of course, some of these qualities may be good, while other qualities are often detrimental to the people they represent.

Admirable quality:

- Find the best interests of the people they represent

- Make our country ahead of their party

- Honesty

- trustworthy

- Work hard

- Good communication skills

- Smart

- Confidence

- Ability to establish agreements and support

- Always pay attention to the best interests of our country

Less admirable quality:

- Willing to tell everything and lies

- Blurring information and facts make it difficult to understand

- Talk about the two sides in his/her mouth, this is a measure of expediency

- Make their party ahead of the people they represent

- Exchange money for their support and vote

- Allow lobbyists, special interests and PAC to influence their vote

- Sponsoring bills that support large organizations but harm ordinary people

- Earn personal gains before individuals and China

- Ignore national debt

- Ignore the need to balance the budget

- Offers to middle class workers

- Looking for an ideal and important bill on PORK

- Willing to exaggerate costs as long as it benefits them

- Willing to conduct a flexible investigation to protect the confidant

- Unconfirmed complaints against opponents

- Play facts quickly and loosely

- Refuse to take responsibility for any errors

- Quickly insults anyone who disagrees

- Reluctant to work with another member on any issue

- Willing to follow the party's instructions blindly

Of course, some people enter politics with the best intentions, but are ultimately tempted by money, power and personal interests. Other politicians are under pressure and intimidation in their own political parties. Sometimes this is not a beautiful photo.

Those who have political power seem to be motivated by one thing - stick to power. They seem willing to do anything to achieve this goal. Either way, aspiring politicians should ask themselves:

- Is my political intentions good and glorious?

- Will I always put my voters, states and countries in the first place?

- Will I work to eliminate unethical behavior, corruption and improper personal interests in politics?

Some students see a broken system and want to change the way politics work today. Other students may only see personal benefits that may arise from holding a political position. Which person is hiding beside you?
