Gym lighting requirements you must know

The stadium has precise lighting requirements. People participate in sports such as volleyball, basketball and gymnastics so that players can see clearly and safely while playing. Usually, the type of lamp used will depend on the size of the stadium.

Single court layout

On a single stadium or basketball court, the lights will be mounted on the ceiling and they will be separated in rows. The size of the gym will determine the number of lights that will be installed. A small stadium that is only 5 feet around each basket and sideline can be properly illuminated with 8 lights evenly distributed along the ceiling. On the other hand, if the stadium is very large, more lights are needed to cover the dark spots. Approximately 24 evenly spaced lights can be hung on the stadium of a large stadium, which should be installed 22 feet above the gym floor.

Double and triple court layout

Some gyms have two basketball courts side by side, while others have a third, larger course that runs vertically through the middle of the other courses. The floor of a gym like this is obviously very large and needs to be illuminated according to size. The total number of lights that can be used is between 36 and 64, depending on the number of areas around the course. They are usually suspended 22 feet from the ground and evenly distributed along the ceiling.

Double lamp

Double lights are used in basketball courts and gyms because they are more beneficial than single-lamp lighting. They consume less power over time, are more efficient, have higher strength, and generally have longer lamp life and produce a softer glow on the floor of the gym. However, they are ideal for smaller gymnasiums that can be hung in two rows on the course on 12 venues, but do not need to evenly separate them. They can be hung from the ceiling of the stadium so that they can illuminate any black spots that may be present. They should also be hung about 22 feet above the ground in accordance with acceptable standards.

The stadium must be properly illuminated to fully enjoy the games played on it. Therefore, in addition to the other requirements that will make the gym a standard gym, it is important to make the lighting correct.
