Install ropes and flexible LED strips on deck or dock

Can you install ROPE LIGHTING on your DECK and/or DOCK? Yes - Over the years we have rope lights on our piers and started to decorate the marina area during the holidays. They are easy to install, quite inexpensive, and offer the right amount of low profile, indirect ambient lighting.

For those who wish to use rope lighting as a more permanent form of accent lighting, rope lights are constructed for this purpose. The waterproof flexible LED light strip is designed for outdoor use.

Waterproof flexible strip LED lights provide the perfect solution for creating energy-saving, stylish focus and mood lighting. Strip lights are discreet, flexible, cut to fit your area, and because they have a strong adhesive, they can be installed almost anywhere. Available in a variety of colors, it can be used on almost any surface, ship, car and/or home.

Steps for installing a rope light: The easiest and most common way to install rope lighting is to use a cable clamp to nail it to the surface. You need cable clamps, hammers, power supplies and rope lighting. The time required for installation depends on the length of the rope.

1. Determine where the rope lights are installed - Select where you want to install the rope lighting. In most cases, the rope lighting is mounted on a ceiling, roof truss or floor deck to produce the desired result. Consider the location of the power supply to make sure your cord reaches the outlet.

2. Install the rope lighting - Use a hammer to clamp the illumination on the surface. Slide the rope into the open arc of the cable clamp during installation while twisting it into the desired pattern. Make sure the hammer does not miss the target when it hits the clip, as it will damage the rope lighting.

3. Test its output - turn off the socket and insert the rope lighting. If the length of the rope lighting does not reach the power outlet, use an extension cord. Open the socket and see if it lights up.

Quickly answer the most common questions
from

• Does my strip light require a controller? The controller is optional, but adds the ability to turn the lights on and off and control other functions such as dimming.
from

• Can I connect multiple bands? Depending on your product, strips can be connected end to end to various meters.

Steps to install a flexible LED strip using a solderless connector:

1. Required materials - Prepare all materials. You need scissors, LED flexible strips, connectors, rulers [if needed] and a set of hands.
from

2. Measure how many feet of LED light strips you need - depending on the quantity ordered, you can send your LED light strip to your roll [16 feet] or foot. Determine how much flexible LED strip lighting you need for your project. Since LED strips can only be cut once every three LEDs, you may need to be slightly above or below the specifications you need.
from

3. How to cut the LED strip - As shown below, the flexible strip light can only be cut along the specified line. Take a sharp pair of scissors and cut it along the line.
from

4. Pay attention to the positive and negative marks - Important note: Pay attention to the positive and negative sides of the LED light bar. This is important for the next few steps. Sometimes when you cut off the LED strips, things mix together.
from

5. Introduction to Connectors - Each connector has two sides. To ensure that it is facing up correctly, make sure that the wider white side is facing up. This is top level. Pull the GENTLE out and pull the locking device out of the wire. Do not pull the cord because the connector is fragile.
from

6. Connect the connector to the LED strip - Important: Color is not always important! Make sure to connect to the power supply through the connector wires down the front side of the flexible strip. Red/black can mean [+] or [-] depending on which side you connect the connector to.
from

7. Fix the tray to the LED light - In the example below, if we want to connect the connector to the other side of the flexible strip light, red is negative and black is positive. Next, secure the locking tray in place and connect the terminals of the LED flexible strip light to the connector. Keep it gentle and make sure the mounting tray is securely closed, otherwise the light will not work.
from

8. Connect the LED strip to the power supply - you can now plug the LED flexible strip light into the LED power supply. Match the positive and negative marks to the positive and negative terminals of the power supply. When doing this, make sure the power is off.

If your strip light is off:
from

Wire color is not always important! Make sure to connect to the power supply through the connector wires down the front side of the flexible strip. Red/black can mean [+] or [-] depending on which side of the LED strip you are connecting the connector to.
from

2. Another common problem is that the connector can be installed upside down; repeat the above steps and try again.
from

3. Also, make sure the tray is completely closed. Be gentle!
from

4. Check the power supply and make sure it is connected properly and use the correct [+] and [-].
from

5. How many feet of LED strips do you use compared to the size of the power unit? If you use a 1 volume 24 V super bright with a 2.5 amp power unit, it will not work because the power unit is too small.
