Trashcan Joe - (Set time: 6:30 PM)
Soaring vocal harmonies and modern song writing set in a soundscape harkening to the early jazz era, Trashcan Joe has a unique sound with a broad appeal. The fact that the instruments are made from recycled and found objects is quickly lost to their stellar musicianship. It's no wonder they are a steadily working live band and have performed at events such as Pickathon, Burning Man, Oregon Public Broadcasting's Live Wire, the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle , Oregon Country Fair, and were the house band at the Candidates Gone Wild at the Roseland Theater.
Pink Lady & John Bennett Jazz Band - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
As Pink Lady sings the songs of the prohibition era, this combo is lead by rag time piano jockey John Bennett and also includes vintage arch top guitarist Steve Boden, Joe Haegele on Drums, Wayne Travillion on trombone and Will Amend on Double Bass.
Melissa Roane - (Set time: 6:00 PM)
Melissa, though too modest to admit it, is one of Portland's most important figures in Vintage Style Swing Dances. She has been teaching at the Viscount Dance Studio since 2003 and has taught, deejayed, and performed at various events around town. Her approachability, knowledge, fun classes, and dance style have garnered her a solid following and place among the Portland's great swing instructors.
